Kami Day, COO of Muscle MX

CBD that is simple, natural, and powerful with results you can trust.

That would be Muscle MX.

Rick talks with Kami Day, the COO of Muscle MX on this episode of “Tech of Sports.”

CBD (cannabidiol) comes from hemp plants and works with your body’s natural biochemical balancer – the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). Endocannabinoids are found many of your body’s key functions; the central nervous system, immune system, brain, organs and joints.

Muscle MX uses purposefully formulated CBD extracts in our topicals to unlock your body’s natural ability to work with the ECS to reduce inflammation, increase needed blood flow and reduce pain. Those who use our premium CBD oil tinctures feel more focused, experience a sense of calm, and have healthier sleep cycles.

CBD and hemp are fast becoming household names, but there are still a few misconceptions. Hemp is not marijuana. Hemp contains less than .3% THC which is the psychoactive compound most commonly associated with marijuana. The elevated levels of CBD in hemp are non-psychoactive and work synergistically with your body to improve performance and overall health and quality of life.

We believe that everyone should be able to live full and active lives. There are adventures to take, races to run and mountains to climb. Muscle MX products are created to liberate you to do the things you want to do!

Muscle MX is a trusted source for innovative, safe and effective products that enhance your body and active lifestyle.

We are proud to provide our customers with products that are simple, natural, and powerful with results you can trust.

Kami is the COO of Muscle MX and a delight to meet and talk with about their great line of CBD.

Roi Mozer, COO of Pico

Rick is joined for a jam packed episode this week, with Roi Mozer of Pico.

Pico is an Israeli SportsTech startup working with Sports Organizations and brands looking for innovative sponsorship activations that convert better than industry averages. They turn engaged, anonymous fans into identifiable customers without the need to download or log-in, but using the fans’ preferred channels and give the teams a better idea of what their fans need and like.

Here are a few examples of what they do:

In-game live activation – St. Louis Blues
Case study – St. Louis Blues (video) & Forbes article
LA Clippers Jumbotron in-game activation
Live activation on Israeli Sports Channel
CHL – live FB activation

Pico brings brands to life and creates experiences through total brand activation – from strategy to execution. A great “Tech of Sports” to start March 2020.

Jeff King, PGA Tour Caddie, Kingmade Jerky

Jeff King. PGA Tour caddie, or jerky maker?

The answer is both! Thanks to Kingmade Jerky.

Rick talks to Jeff King this week on “Tech of Sports.”

Jeff King, Kingmade Founder, began his love for the game of golf at age 9, started his career as a professional caddie in 1998 and has worked with some of the world’s best players on the greatest stages in golf.

But he loved beef jerky.

Jeff moved full steam ahead creating and refining his own healthy jerky recipes. As a true competitor and diehard athlete who grew up playing five sports, Jeff never backed down from a challenge, and he worked tirelessly to get his recipe right. His first unofficial batch of Classic Recipe Kingmade Jerky was definitely worth all of the hard work. In 2012, he began creating jerky recipes in his home kitchen in McKinney, Texas and within a few weeks, he brought his beef jerky out to the course as a snack for himself. Several players tried it and said it was the best jerky they had ever tasted. Soon, other players began searching through Jeff’s players’ bags hunting for his legendary jerky. Long story short, word started flying around the tour. Demand soared, and players were searching for their own stash of Jeff’s jerky, and several even provided flavor suggestions! Finally, after unrelenting requests, Jeff started making and selling his jerky to the greatest golfers on earth, and within no time, no bag on tour was complete without Jeff’s jerky in it. Now it is the official jerky of the PGA Tour.

Caddie Created. Player Approved.

George Lynch, Men’s Hoops Coach at Clark Atlanta, 12-year NBA Career

Rick has the pleasure of talking to one of the classiest guys in basketball for this “Tech of Sports.”

Former North Carolina star, longtime NBAer and current Men’s Basketball Coach at NCAA DII, Clark Atlanta, George Lynch.

With the men’s DII and DIII championships also to be crowned in Atlanta this April, Lynch hopes his squad will be a part of the action. Lynch is in his second year as head coach of the Clark Atlanta University Panthers men’s basketball team.

Lynch’s squad finished 14-12 in 2018-19, 10-7 in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. The Panthers ranked in the top half of the SIAC in scoring offense, scoring defense, offensive and defensive rebounding, and scoring margin, and were third in turnover margin, assists-to-turnover ratio. They finished second in 3-point field goals made and free throw percentage.

Lynch spent 12 years in the NBA after being a first-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in 1993. A defensive force, Lynch also was the first rookie since Magic Johnson to score 30 points in a game. He played for four NBA teams during his career (L.A. Lakers, Vancouver Grizzlies, Philadelphia 76ers, and the New Orleans Hornets), playing the NBA Finals with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2001. He was also a second-team All-NBA defensive player that year.

After his playing career, Lynch worked with Southern Methodist University in player training and development and ran a non-profit youth basketball organization in the Dallas area. In 2010, he joined the University of California-Irvine, first as an assistant athletic director for Community Relations and then as a strength coach for the men’s and women’s basketball programs. He served in the same capacity at SMU from 2012 to 2015 before becoming the school’s player development coach in 2015. He has been assistant coach with the Grand Rapid Drive of the NBA’s “G” League since 2017.

Lynch, a graduate of the University of North Carolina, helped lead the Tar Heels to the 1993 Atlantic Coast Conference championship, along with the NCAA National Championship where he was the Most Valuable Player of the NCAA East Regional. Lynch, a four-year letterman, was captain of the 1993 team, was on the NCAA’s All-Tournament team.
